This was the first doll I ever bought with the explicit intention of starting a 'collection'...
She is quite old and in need of repair, as you will see in the photos - but I just couldn't resist her, as her name is the 'Judy Girl', which is also MY name!.
I happened upon her at a UFDC convention, held here in Kansas City, in the late 1970's.
I was working as an audio-visual technician in the UFDC sales room, she caught my eye, the seller showed me the raised lettering with her name, and I was hooked!

What a perfect way for someone named Judy to begin their doll collecting, huh??

The Judy Girl!
Composition
Very similar to a 'Patsy' style doll.

Gotz Doll "Melissa"
Vinyl, 16", 'strung'.

Little Boy Doll
Made in Germany / hard rubber, jointed.

Schmid Porcelain/Musical Doll

'Nun Doll'
This hard plastic doll is dressed as a Benedictine nun
and was given to me more than 30 years ago.
My first cousin, Mary Alice Guilfoil, had entered the Benedictine order, and the doll was purchased shortly after,
and then, eventually, given to me.
(note the ring on the doll's right hand!) (she has a red FELT tongue too!)

Hard plastic
Approx. 4" tall

Judy Littlechap
The Littlechap Family was something of
an 'alternative' to Barbie,
however they never achieved anywhere
near the popularity that Barbie did.

Very unique doll
with no discernible legs, and
some kind of NUT for a head!
Rather crude, but charming!
I call her 'Gramma'!
